FORGOTTEN PARADISE is an ongoing project with Director Charlotte Brathwaite.
THE FIRST VIDEO is a sketch I made from footage we shot in Barbados, involving Charlotte's family, the Grazettes area of Bridgetown that her father and brother were born and raised in, and students from the Barbados Community College.
THE SECOND VIDEO utilizes footage shot in Accra, Ghana and Barbados and is an editing collaboration between Charlotte and myself. It features an art installation and procession we made with Abigail Deville at the Chole Wote Festival in Accra, footage from Charlotte's subsequent journey to Senegal, and at its core is a part of Charlotte's journey connecting the dots of the international slave trade and her own personal history.
It is very much a living and growing document.
